Join Jayden in Round 2 of Lackey Grand Prix #7 as he looks to use Abraham to bestow some fatherly advice upon opponent Joe Schaefer!

This week we’ve got Round 2 of Lackey Grand Prix #7 against Joe “Schaef” Schaefer, and while he’s normally the one rocking the Genesis deck, I was inspired to run one myself to see how a CoW Abraham offense would fare in a 1TC/1 Artifact format. The offense wants to run more Territory Class Enhancements than a lot of other decks, but it really only needs one in order to start rolling. To maximize synergy with Blue/Crimson Dual-Alignment Enhancements, I played a slightly non-standard Thieves defense to try some new things. Joe brought some Disciples with some other flip Clay Heroes splashed in and, of course, a Philistine defense. I should’ve known. Maybe don’t take too many notes on this game as we both made sure the other wasn’t the only one making misplays, or maybe just take some notes on what not to do… Either way, it ended up being a fun game, misplays and all. Jayden started playing Redemption around 2004 when his brothers taught him to play and he attended his first National Tournament in 2005. Since then, he has become a competitive (mostly Type 2) player with a few National titles and, more importantly, has acquired many great friends and mentors through the game. However, in the years leading up to 2020, there has been a downward trend in attendance at some of the big tournaments, Nationals included. As a result, Jayden wanted to start doing something that would help pique and maintain interest in Redemption and he decided to do so in the form of a YouTube channel called Redemption with Jayden, which he started in June 2020 shortly after graduating college.
