Join Jayden for a deck build he used in the RobM Zoom series that features a Musicians based offense.

It’s been a while since I’ve done one, so I decided to throw my hat in the ring for Series 18 of the RobMStudios Zoom/Discord Invitational unofficial online tournament. This tournament functions similar to the Lackey Grand Prix except each game is played with paper cards over webcam rather than through Lackey. I definitely prefer the feel of using a physical deck, but that definitely makes it a tournament more suitable for tweaking one deck rather than building a new one each round. So for Round 1, I was paired up against Jake “AgurTheWise” Antonetz and decided to use my “Hakuna Matata” build I used at the 2024 KY State tournament with a few modifications. To get a full overview of the deck, check out my KY State recap video, but otherwise I’ll just be going over what changed since then in this video before playing the game against Jake. Jake brought his “Newspaper” deck he’s been using lately, which uses a Nativity offense with a black/gray goodstuff defense.

Jayden started playing Redemption around 2004 when his brothers taught him to play and he attended his first National Tournament in 2005. Since then, he has become a competitive (mostly Type 2) player with a few National titles and, more importantly, has acquired many great friends and mentors through the game. However, in the years leading up to 2020, there has been a downward trend in attendance at some of the big tournaments, Nationals included. As a result, Jayden wanted to start doing something that would help pique and maintain interest in Redemption and he decided to do so in the form of a YouTube channel called Redemption with Jayden, which he started in June 2020 shortly after graduating college. He loves being able to share decks, games, and strategies, and hopes that the channel can be a useful resource for players at every level of the game.
