Join Jayden for a game with the new Gospel of Christ NT Gold cards against Jonathan Gomez and his signature mill deck.
In Round 4 of the Lackey Grand Prix I’m rounding out the new themes from GoC and the new winner promos with my take on NT Gold, augmented by some good ole PostEs to give them a little more consistency. NT Gold got a few pretty nice Heroes and some really solid Good Enhancements, but I think they’re just a tad slow to set up unless you get the right draw, so I added a few of my favorite friends to help get to what I need and also utilize Achim for that sweet, sweet “negate neutrals” ability we all know and love. On defense, I wanted to give my Crimson anti-SI defense I used in the previous round another shot since they didn’t get a very good showing against Joe. I switched a few things up, but the gist of it is the same. My opponent this round was long-time player and friend but first time channel guest, Jonathan “Xonathan” Gomez, known by some as “the guy with that mill deck”. He’s one of the few players in the game that’s typically associated with a certain strategy, so of course he had to bring a mill deck to the table for his RWJ debut. Mill lost a lot with Rotation, but the last of the plagues coming along with GoC Phase 1 do add some spice to the deck and it was certainly interesting to see what Jonathan’s early GoC iteration looks like and I’m excited to see where it ends up. We’ll certainly have to take a closer look at it on the channel at some point here, but for now, enjoy the game!

Jayden started playing Redemption around 2004 when his brothers taught him to play and he attended his first National Tournament in 2005. Since then, he has become a competitive (mostly Type 2) player with a few National titles and, more importantly, has acquired many great friends and mentors through the game. However, in the years leading up to 2020, there has been a downward trend in attendance at some of the big tournaments, Nationals included. As a result, Jayden wanted to start doing something that would help pique and maintain interest in Redemption and he decided to do so in the form of a YouTube channel called Redemption with Jayden, which he started in June 2020 shortly after graduating college. He loves being able to share decks, games, and strategies, and hopes that the channel can be a useful resource for players at every level of the game.
