Jayden has some bonus content for us this week where he takes his creative and innovative Grain Mimic deck in a zoom game against some Flood Soul Hide!
In light of a new combo and its somewhat unimpressive debut, I decided to release a “bonus” video of sorts, which is the recording of my Round 4 game against Marc V. in Zoom Discord Invitational Series 18.
After attempting to use the Mimicking Miracles/Grain Offering combo against Tim for LGP #15 Round 4, I decided the deck needed to shift gears slightly and didn’t want to wait for the next LGP round to try it out, so I switched some things up with the offense and built a paper copy to try against Marc.
While the combo isn’t game-breaking by any means, I do think it’s a lot of fun to assemble and it’d be great to see combos like this become more prominent in the Redemption meta. As we saw against Tim, combos like this will struggle against aggressive stax builds, but I think the changes you’ll see in this video will give the deck a little more resilience.
For this game, Marc brought a Flood/Soul-hide deck, commonly piloted by his wife, which is somewhat more forgiving in terms of stax pieces, but the looming reset from A New Beginning does pose a threat of blanking the single use consistency pieces that put together the combo. Let’s see if we can pull it off!
