Jayden features a combo deck in a Type 2 Classic game seeking to go from 0 to 7 lost souls rescued on one turn! Check out the video to see if he could pull it off!
This week on Redemption with Jayden we’re taking a look at Classic Type 2 Combo Deck #1 which uses a 0-to-7 combo that’s been around since the release of Revelation of John. The idea is to use Disciples of the Lamb with four copies of Book of Jashar and play them all in the same battle to play Son of God 7 times, recurring it each time with DotL or a copy of it with BoJ. Of course a combo like this isn’t going to be very easy to pull off since DotL requires 12 disciples and you need to get all the BoJ’s somehow and then get initiative to play it all while your opponent will likely see it coming, but by mixing some older cards with some newer speed cards it doesn’t take very long to get all the pieces together. For the most part the tricky aspect is actually having the opportunity to pull the metaphorical trigger. My opponent for this game is Joe Schaefer, who of course figured out what was going on relatively quickly, but the question is then, could he stop it?? He brought a meek Judges/Covenant with Death deck with a not-entirely-unexpected Classic Syrian defense that certainly caused a few headaches, so check out the game below to see how it worked out!

Jayden started playing Redemption around 2004 when his brothers taught him to play and he attended his first National Tournament in 2005. Since then, he has become a competitive (mostly Type 2) player with a few National titles and, more importantly, has acquired many great friends and mentors through the game. However, in the years leading up to 2020, there has been a downward trend in attendance at some of the big tournaments, Nationals included. As a result, Jayden wanted to start doing something that would help pique and maintain interest in Redemption and he decided to do so in the form of a YouTube channel called Redemption with Jayden, which he started in June 2020 shortly after graduating college. He loves being able to share decks, games, and strategies, and hopes that the channel can be a useful resource for players at every level of the game.
