Jayden is playing a c-c-combo deck that’s trying to attack the opponent’s hand! And to go along with it, we have some Lackey Grand Prix 15 gameplay to see the deck in action.
Lackey Grand Prix #15 is now underway and we’ve got a record-setting 34, which means this will be the first ever 6-round Lackey Grand Prix accompanied by a 4-person Top Cut at the end of those six rounds.
For me, this LGP is starting off excitingly in a couple different ways. One way is that out of 33 possible opponents, I was randomly paired up with Jay “floodedRED” Chambers. Of course there are plenty of solid players in this tournament, but I don’t think anyone would argue against Jay being one of the scariest and personally I haven’t had much luck against him in LGPs historically.
The second exciting way I’m starting this LGP is with a combo deck, that’s right, a combo deck. Effective combos are few and far between in Redemption these days due to recent rule changes, and I’m not just talking about synergistic interactions between a couple cards–I’m talking about legit combos that, once assembled, have a high probability of winning you the game. This combo is still limited by the “Four Activations” rule, so it’s certainly not a guaranteed win by any means, but the goal is to discard four cards from your opponent’s hand every turn and, when supplemented with other hand attack cards and counters, that’ll hopefully be enough to seal the deal if you can make it stick.
Once I found out I’d be playing Jay in Round 1, I almost considered switching things up and waiting until next week when I might have better odds of comboing, but I decided not to back down. These Sons of Jacob wanted revenge for the last time Jay and I played… So, all that said, check out the video for more information on the combo and to see if I actually get to pull it off!
