Jayden is back from the KY State tournament and he has several decks and stories to share!
While it may have seemed like the big tournament season kicked off for many of us who were able to attend Classic Weekend at the beginning of March, it feels a little more official with a couple State tournaments now having taken place since those are the tournaments where we start seeing a lot of Nationals-ready decks being debuted and tested.
I was fortunate to be able to attend the KY State tournament this past weekend and had a great time! Huge shoutout to Brian and all the others involved in the planning and hosting process! For this week’s video, I decided to do a brief recap of the tournament along with an overview of each of the decks I used in the three categories I participated in.
In Type 1 2-Player, I used a revised version of “Hakuna Matata”, which was a deck I featured in a video at the end of last year. In Type 2 2-Player I made a Nazareth Angels/Thieves deck that looks to set up an early Nazareth and steal the limited resources my opponent is left with.
For Booster Draft, we drafted CoW, RoJ, FoM, PoC, GoC, and IR, all with Roots cards as the filler for a total of 56 cards and we played Multiplayer games. The experience of the draft itself was fantastic, with meaningful cards and tough decisions even down to the last few cards in each pack, and I included the deck I drafted in the video and in the list below.
