Join Jayden in an online local tourney as he and René battle it out from opposites sides of the Atlantic in a GoC Only game (also, peep the new logo)!

On the last Saturday in May, Derek hosted an online Local where we had four players in Type 1 2-player and two of us in GoC Only. I recorded my GoC Only game against René and used what I can only assume is the best deck in GoC Only since I don’t believe it has lost a game yet unless I’m remembering incorrectly.  If you think I’m wrong, come prove it at the next online Local where I decide to play GoC Only! 😀 René played a solid Angels/Herods build that capitalizes on using the strongest territory counters in the format. While I wouldn’t say that I enjoy GoC Only as much as most other formats, I do think there are some interesting possibilities to explore and it makes me particularly interested in playing a block format with only a few recent sets at some point. Jayden started playing Redemption around 2004 when his brothers taught him to play and he attended his first National Tournament in 2005. Since then, he has become a competitive (mostly Type 2) player with a few National titles and, more importantly, has acquired many great friends and mentors through the game. However, in the years leading up to 2020, there has been a downward trend in attendance at some of the big tournaments, Nationals included. As a result, Jayden wanted to start doing something that would help pique and maintain interest in Redemption and he decided to do so in the form of a YouTube channel called Redemption with Jayden, which he started in June 2020 shortly after graduating college. He loves being able to share decks, games, and strategies, and hopes that the channel can be a useful resource for players at every level of the game.
