It’s a Birthday Celebration!

Happy Birthday

Land of Redemption turned 1 this week! In honor of a year of great Redemption content, we’re having a celebration! And a contest with prizes! Before we get to that, I’d like to start with some acknowledgements:

First, many thanks to Rob Anderson for creating Redemption! This great game of fun and fellowship is the whole reason this blog exists and we are eternally grateful to Rob (and the playtest team, of course) for creating and maintaining it.

Also, huge thanks to Three Lions Gaming who paid for our hosting costs this past year. Land of Redemption is online thanks to them and they’ve graciously agreed to assist us with another year of hosting!

Last, but certainly not least, to the authors and readers of Land of Redemption: Words cannot adequately express how grateful we are for you. We wouldn’t be here without you, you are all so incredibly awesome! You literally make Land of Redemption what it is. Thanks so much for contributing and reading all the articles and fun things we’ve published over the past year! And please consider contributing again (or for the first time; that’s way cool, too!).

Without further ado….

CONTEST

I’m super excited about this, I know Gabe is as well, so here’s the info! In appreciation of everyone that has helped make Land of Redemption great, and because a birthday party isn’t complete without presents, we’re hosting a contest with awesome Redemption prizes!

What do I need to do? Simply comment on this post with a link to your favorite article on Land of Redemption from this past year (any article posted before this announcement is eligible) and also include the reason why it’s your favorite article (must have both to be entered). Please also include a valid email address when commenting (it’s a required field when posting comments and only admins can see it) so we can contact you if you win something! We will not use any email addresses provided except related to prizes.

How long is the contest running? The contest is open for 2 weeks, until 11:59pm Central on Friday, April 15th. All comments/entries up to that point will be counted and entered into the drawing. Winners will be announced in a new post here the following week (the week of April 18th).

Can I enter multiple times? Only 1 entry per person and each winner can only win 1 prize. All authors/contributors from our first year are automatically entered! Please feel free to share your favorite article anyway, though, we’d love to know!

You mentioned prizes? I did, and they’re great! Prizes include: $30 Three Lions Gaming gift certificates (wow!), Grapes of Wrath, Mayhem, Abram’s Army, The Serpent, Dragon Raid promo, Faithful Servant promo, and Philistine Diviners!

~||~

Finally, I want to reiterate our appreciation for everyone mentioned above, and anyone else that I may have forgotten (you get an apology AND appreciation!). Here’s to another year of great content and awesome fun and fellowship with Redemption!

“The future looks bright” by Gabe.

I really liked this article because it gave me hope for the future of Redemption and it also made me very excited for it at the same time!

Happy Birthday, LoR! I have really enjoyed this great site, learned so much about the game, and even been encouraged in my faith! Great job and many thanks to Gabe for undertaking and maintaining the site!

As for my favorite article from the first year, I would say it was “Learning From Our Peers – Know Your Role: Part 1”, about the two types of decks. I had never known this critical concept before and it really helped me as a player! I need to continue going back to that and many other great strategy articles on LoR to improve as a player!

Happy Birthday Land of Redemption!! Woohoo!! What a great resource for such a fun game!! My favorite post has got to be.. Push Button, Receive Bacon by Gabe!! Haha this post is great! What a hilarious title! It also provides deep insight to the meta and evolution of the game over time. Thank you so much for your contributions to Land of Redemption! Blessings and best wishes always, http://landofredemption.com/?p=499

“Browa’s Budget Bazaar – Starting with Starters, Part 2 of 2” by Scott – To me, this encompasses the essence of what Land of Redemption is all about – a resource for learning from our peers, especially for beginners. I think using the starter decks to create a slightly more competitive deck (and on a budget) is brilliant!

Thank you to all who have posted – I have seen much value in this site

http://landofredemption.com/?p=1481 -Gabes learning from our peers series was my favorite series as a whole. I liked hearing good strategy that otherwise, I would not have heard of or probably even thought of. I like hearing about bluffing a lot on this specific article. As for the whole series, I like it because it gives me some opinions on what you can try and in this case a redemption elders input.
    Super helpfull!

http://landofredemption.com/?p=3441- I loved this article because at first I thought Music Leader could only be played in musician decks. But now I know that Music Leader can be played is so many decks, and now I play him in a lot of my decks. 🙂
    Thanks Gabe.

I appreciate land of redemption’s contribution to the Redemption World. It reminds me of an updated version of I think it was called holder’s Heroes that shaef ran or maybe I was wrong I can’t remember it’s been so many years. Prefer the strategy articles. The ones in particular by Gabe, Justin, and Jordan are the best in my opinion. When you have multiple National Championship winners sharing their secrets it just helps you become a better player. As far as the actual article my favorite is the building a better mousetrap series. The one with the Panic demons. I remember when Angel Wars came out those things were laughable. Yet he takes it to the national championships and wins with it…. that is awesome. I think that is because Jordan’s deck building style is more out-of-the-box than conventional, and he still makes it work which is very impressive. I like hearing about the failures, successes, and the adjustments in deck building. Thanks again for all your guys’ hard work and keeping this site up and your contributions! God bless

I love these because they have helped my play group be competitive until they get better cards!!!!

I’ve loved all of the Land of Redemption articles, but the ones that stand out the most to me are: http://landofredemption.com/?p=857 “Development of a Card” because I love seeing how cards come to be as they are now! But I also really loved how the spoilers were presented from this last set. I love learning more about the stories of the people we have already heard about and prefer a verse by verse lesson than topical, so the fact that we saw the cards spoiled in “their story” was a delight!

The Judean Mediums – Strategy for Forgotten Cards http://landofredemption.com/?p=3297
I like finding ways to combo new cards with “forgotten cards”, and this article showed me a great way to boost my demon/magician defense. (Household Idols + The Judean Mediums + Prince of this World or Enchanter).

“Do you want to build a type 2”
I have been trying to get into T2 for a while, but haven’t really been able to make my own deck for it. this and the rest of the articles in the series have helped me to start thinking about one, and I might even be able to use them by the time Nats rolls around next year.

Beginnings Of The Twin Cities Playgroup

Although I’m not a native of MN, I’ve had the opportunity to experience Bill’s tourneys firsthand and he is an amazing host. Great testimony to what this game can do.

    Hidden Gems of Gold

    http://landofredemption.com/?p=3857

This expanded my horizons as an luke/abomb player, and i might be using ambush the city. i always love to find new combos from old cards! Taking egyptian’s wealth was always kind of a pet peeve of mine because a friend of mine always used it on me, but now that i’m actually using gold, it’s something to consider!

Do You Want to Build a Play Group by YMT

I love hearing about combos with old cards!

I like this article because it explains the meanings behind certain cards when they are made. Has lots of information of the history and the stories from the bible to explain the cards name and special abilities etc.

I think this is a great idea to keep writing articles about the biblical history behind each card.

This. I’m interested in trying out T2, and this series of article is great help.

Many thanks to those who make it happen.
I believe my favorite article was Learning “From Our Peers – I Am Second” by Gabe. I personally like going second and he really captured the pros and cons of it.
