Throwback Thursday is a common theme on sites and blogs where you hearken back to something interesting or random from the past. On Land of Redemption, we’ve started our Throwback Thursday trend with re-posts of preview articles from years past.
This week we continue with the Priests articles. Enjoy!

God’s people in the Old and New testaments are warned against sacrificing to idols, since it is not a harmless activity. Not only does it show unfaithfulness to God, and thus break our fellowship with Him, but it also is a form of fellowship with demons – not a good idea.
In Redemption, this idea is portrayed in this card:
Demon behind the Idol
1/1 Orange Evil Character
Generic, demon
Take an orange Enhancement from discard pile and place it beneath draw pile. If an Artifact depicting an idol is not in play, discard this Evil Character after battle.
But I say, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to devils, and not to God: and I would not that ye should have fellowship with devils. I Corinthians 10:20
The idea is that the demon benefits by the sacrifice made to the idol. The benefit is not immediate, but it does allow for cards to be reused eventually.
The new orange brigade is comprised of demons and the spiritual struggles that believers face. Not only is it unique in the type of evil character that it contains, but it is also unique in that there are many ways in which orange brigade cards appear out of strange places. For example, there is more than one way to take an evil card from the bottom of your draw pile into hand. That makes a card like Demon behind the Idol quite helpful for orange. Notice, though, that if there is no idol to hide behind, the demon is discarded after the battle. Of course, if you have Tartaros in play, it goes there.
Orange does have its weaknesses:
1. It never draws cards. It plays on the bottom of the draw pile instead of the top.
2. It never discards cards from opponent’s draw pile. It messes with cards in opponent’s hand or Storehouse instead.
3. Three Nails stops orange cold, unless you can get around it with The Pit, get rid of it with Destruction of Nehushtan or some other method. Also watch out for A Child is Born.
Even with its weaknesses, Orange is a brigade you must be prepared to beat. For the time being, Orange may be paired with another brigade in Type 1. But I can see Orange standing alone quite easily in Type 2, and in the future, orange might be a top defensive choice for many players.
