Join Jayden for a deck and game featuring the new Thieves defense from GoC phase 2.
“They’re Thieves!” This week on Redemption with Jayden we’re checking out a brand new defense from Gospel of Christ phase 2 that tries to use your opponent’s deck against them, which probably isn’t the strongest theme from GoC but I’d definitely say it’s the most fun. To maximize on the fun, I’ve paired it with (mostly) NT Gold, which is also quite fun to play. All together this is actually an upgraded version of the Contender deck from YourTurnGames that is comprised of the same themes and will be available within a short time from the release of this video. The defense is nearly identical, but the offense takes some liberties with adding a few PostEs for hand control, a Gabriel because he’s awesome, and Rob’s New Covenant+Resurrection+Noah combo just for funsies. The game this week is the Lackey Grand Prix #5 game against Jared “Hymn” Strauss, who brought an updated Resetti deck as well as some interesting discussion following the game so be sure to stick around ’til the end!

Jayden started playing Redemption around 2004 when his brothers taught him to play and he attended his first National Tournament in 2005. Since then, he has become a competitive (mostly Type 2) player with a few National titles and, more importantly, has acquired many great friends and mentors through the game. However, in the years leading up to 2020, there has been a downward trend in attendance at some of the big tournaments, Nationals included. As a result, Jayden wanted to start doing something that would help pique and maintain interest in Redemption and he decided to do so in the form of a YouTube channel called Redemption with Jayden, which he started in June 2020 shortly after graduating college. He loves being able to share decks, games, and strategies, and hopes that the channel can be a useful resource for players at every level of the game.
