Today we’re taking a look at Shoes of Peace. Shoes are very significant in the Bible – They’re mentioned no less than 30 times in the new testament – Usually in reference to baptism. Two O.T. stories in particular come to mind when talking about shoes – Both Moses and Joshua were instructed to remove their sandals, when standing on Holy Ground.
For our Armor of God we wanted the Shoes to grant Site access. This is representative in two ways – Just as you catch more flies with honey, you can reach more souls with Peace, rather than war. Additionally, shoes are a method of getting somewhere, so we felt that it was appropriate in that regard as well.
When it came time to decide on a third brigade for Shoes, it was fairly easy to pick blue brigade – we already have a theme of peace in that brigade, so the shoes fit right in.
The first version of shoes forced the discard of an evil card from hand. This proved to be very strong in testing, so we switched to something less devastating. Now it reveals as many cards as you have pieces of armor, and searches for souls, appropriate for one who is walking with Christ.
