Welcome again to Drafting with Drrek. This week we’ll be taking a look at the Women pack.
- Falling Away – What really needs to be said here? Quite possibly the most powerful card to draft in booster. Always take if it’s in your pack.
- Jael – Choose the blocker on a Hero is an incredibly powerful ability. Take her if you can.
- Claudia – Very useful banding ability. Definitely worth a pick.
- Jael’s Nail – Pretty strong red battle winner. Nothing really unique about it, but worth including.
- Lot’s Wife – Let’s you block with the best Evil Character, regardless of whether or not you own them. Plus she’s a black Canaanite.
- Gomer – Almost the same as Lot’s Wife, but is limited to banding to male characters, and doesn’t have relevant identifiers.
- Children – Band all for gold, pick Children or Praises based off color you have.
- Praises – Band all for white, pick Children or Praises based off color you have.
- Sapphira – Strong Evil Character, forcing your opponent to fight by the numbers. If you can get an Ananias from Apostles, the combo is enough to lock out many booster decks for turns.
- Counsel of Abigail – Stop an opponent’s battle winner and add its numbers to your side, definitely worth playing.
- Abigail – Massive toughness numbers. An all around solid Hero.
- Eve – Solid offensive numbers, and a useful built in ignore.
- Mary Magdalene – Sold numbers, immunity from demons is decent, and she can use TGT if you get one from a TEC pack.
- Midwives – Solid numbers, and a good ability if you use a primarily green offense.
- Job’s Wife – Not as strong as Sapphira since she has worse numbers, and no possible band target, but she’s still plenty good enough to include in many decks.
- Coat of Many Colors – Allow any Hero to use any Enhancement. Doesn’t win the battle in and of itself, but it can really help if you can’t draw the right Heroes/Enhancements. If you happen to draft a Joseph, this card is amazing.
- King’s Daughter – Site access is good, especially if you are drafting with Women packs.
- Joanna – Solid numbers, and can use TGT if you get it from an Early Church pack.
- Foolish Advice – Turning a battle into a fight by the numbers battle is pretty strong, and often a battlewinner.
- Women as Snares – A difficult ability to use properly, since it generates souls for your opponents, but well timed it can make your rescues much easier.
- Sarah – Blue Genesis Hero with good offensive numbers.
- Rachel – 5/6 green Hero, plus a Genesis Hero so can be searched out by Answer to Prayer or Creation of the World.
- Lydia – Protection from capture is a decent ability.
- Elizabeth – Protection from capture is still a decent ability, but she has worse numbers than Lydia. A N.T. prophet so can be banded to by disciples Simeon.
- Scorn of Michal – If you’re playing brown, this is probably a battlewinner.
- Temptation – Generally a battlewinner since most characters are male.
- Deceit of Sapphira – Evil battle winner, though it does cost you your character.
- Rizpah’s Sackcloth – Same as Deceit of Sapphira, pick between these two based on color drafted
- Idle Gossip – Decently strong defensive battlewinner. Need to be sure there’s a hero on the table that can beat the rescuing one.
- Treachery of Jezebel – Strong interrupt akin to Counsel of Abigail.
- Silly Women – Can get some pretty ridiculous numbers late in a booster game.
- Mary of Bethany – Solid numbers, and stock goes up if you drafted a Martha.
- Pharaoh’s Daughter – Solid numbers, ability will likely not matter.
- Jochebed – Situational ignore, somewhat subpar numbers.
- Rahab – Limited site access, could be useful sometimes.
- Naomi – Generic 5/5 gold Hero.
- Queen of Sheba – Ability is unlikely to matter, generally just a 5/4 purple Hero.
- Martha – Generic 5/4 green Hero.
- Jairus’ Daughter – Her ability is helpful if you have a lack of Heroes out, but her numbers leave something to be desired.
- Laughter – Can be a battle winner in many situations, but not totally consistent.
- Great Faith – Not a battle winner, but lets you search out that battle winner you need. Plus you can draw it again, so its reusable.
- Reach of Desperation – Interrupt, draw and play next is plenty strong in booster.
- Bathsheba – Pretty generic 5/5 purple Hero.
- Dance of Death – Great numbers in most battles, and multi-color. Can definitely be worth a slot.
- New Jerusalem – Generic Site access is pretty good, especially if you are drafting with Women.
- Sorrow of Mary – Good against bands, and very good to follow up an opponent’s Battle Cry or United Kingdom, but not entirely consistent.
- Lot’s Daughters – Terrible numbers, but she’s a black Canaanite and female so she could play a CBN Stone of Thebez if you draft one, or be the target of a Fortify Site.
- Leah – Bad numbers. Low priority Hero.
- Potiphar’s Wife – Ability can be decent if you hit an important enough Hero, but her numbers are awful, and her ability does generate a soul for your opponents.
- Michal – It can be a nice surprise to ignore your opponent’s David, but she’s normally just going to be a 4/4 generic brown Evil Character.
- Woman of Thebez – In the wrong brigade for Canaanites, so just a 4/4 gold EC. Nothing special.
- Foolishness of Five Virgins – Good defensive numbers, and can be a situational battlewinner.
- Scarlet Line – If you can get it played on a female character it’s generally a battle winner, but the female requirement makes it situational.
- Carelessness– Numbers are pretty good for an evil Enhancement, and its ability is situationally useful.
- Rhoda’s Gladness – Pretty situational immunity. Not worthless, but generally not worthwhile.
- Pharaoh’s Prison – Works with with Dreaming Pharaoh, and to a lesser extent Prison Guards.
- Egypt – Works with Building Egypt and King So.
- Assyria – Works with King Sargon and Plunderers.
- Babylon – Allows more souls to be held in Bablyonian Banquet Hall.
- Lion’s Den – Makes Persian Presidents CBN.
- Media – Works with Ram with Two Horns.
- Prison – Works with Prison Guards
- Prison of Asa – Also works with Prison Guards
- Pit of Dothan – Works with Brothers’ Envy, though this is extraordinarily unlikely.
- Kir – Nothing special
- Halah – Nothing special
- Lost Soul (Women Only) – Can often deny a rescue or limit the opponent’s options, as male Heroes are more common than Women.
- Bravery of Priscilla – Can be useful sometimes, but in general not worth it.
- Piety of Mary – Decent numbers, but that’s really all it has going for it.
- Hospitality of Martha -Only works on Martha so very inconsistent. At least it has decent numbers.
- Destruction of Athaliah – Situationally useful, but pretty bad numbers and only works against one brigade.
- Lamentation of Rachel – Same as Destruction of Athaliah, but no numbers.
- Forbidden Fruit – Similar to the previous two cards in that it only works against one brigade, but it only targets one Hero instead of all like the last two.
- Athaliah – Her ability is nearly irrelevant because she has to enter battle for it to start increasing her, and her numbers are terrible. Just counting the purple Heroes is pretty weak anyway.
- A Look Back – Doesn’t help you win the current battle besides the low 2/1 numbers, but can be useful to snipe problem Heroes from your opponent.
- Love for Rachel – Only worth it if you draft Rachel, but very worth it on her.
- Lamenting for Jepthah’s Daughter – Finally a set aside that gives a worthwhile ability. Too bad it takes 4 turns to do so.
- Drawn Water – As with all the other set asides to gain numbers, this card is not good.
- Lost Soul (No SA) – Do not draft unless it is the last card handed to you.

Praeceps
49. Potiphar’s Wife – Ability can be decent if you hit an important enough Hero, but her numbers are awful, and her ability does generate a soul for your opponents.
Actually she generates a soul for you, since it sends the captured hero to opponent’s land of bondage.
