First Animals

This deck features the consistency of Patriarchs and pairs it with an animal defense to take full advantage of the new promo First Animals that came out last fall. This deck features several ways to get animals in your hand to boost the draw on First Animals, and this pairing of themes provides access to a high number of dual-alignment cards to further boost the overall consistency of the deck.

Faith of Abraham gives the potential for multiple uses of First Animals as playing it with the play ability from Faith of Abraham would negate the play ability and return First Animals to your hand. Jacob, Follower of God can ensure you get First Animals as he can directly search for it as a link in your banding chain. This deck also features the best initiative hero in the game in Eliezer of Damascus, perhaps better known as "Sad Hendrix".

Essentially, the offense can string together multiple heroes in a large banding chain for massive numbers and resource advantage, but it also has the potential to throw out a low numbered hero to gain initiative and play some strong enhancements. Toss is my favorite mechanic, so Peace is included as another layer that can be featured on a large banding chain or placed on a solo rescue where you can still get initiative to toss something like Leviathan which forces your opponent to band to avoid it.

For the defense, animals are a mixed bag at the present moment. The best play animals have right now is Pride of Lions, which is a TON of fun when you can pull it off. That play, plus the strong characters animals have, plus all the consistency of the dual-alignment enhancements offered in this deck gives enough resources that you should be able to find a few blocks most games.
