Marc Vellake became married to his cherished wife in 2012 and his family grew to include a boy and girl. Although getting married took him away from the game of Redemption, he has returned after a decade to make it a ministry of his local church where he serves as part of its spiritual leadership as a deacon. He and his wife (that’s right, he got his “non-nerd” wife to be involved!) seek to use the game to grow Christians in their knowledge of the Bible and bring the Gospel to gamers in his community that would normally not step foot in a church. Although he used to play and host tournaments merely for the fun of the game, he now does so in service to his community and the glory of God.
