My First Team Event

My Redemption hiatus started with college and ended when this adult wanted to be “like a kid again!” I had so many fond memories of Redemption: going to Alive with Doug, playing Chris Bany at Nationals, but most importantly doing all of this with my cousin: Aaron Williams. He tricked me into playing this game at his birthday party! He spent countless hours helping me refine and test play decks. On our drive to Minnesota, he was helping build my ten decks (yes that’s right, I ruined deck registration for everyone – sorry), so I could rip Haman’s Plot every round if need be. He has truly been an “Aaron” to me.

Coming soon to a City near you

In our first preview article for Fall of Man Gabe shared with us a basis in Genesis 3, Adam, Eve, and The Serpent. But that’s only the beginning of the story. After being expelled from the Garden and bearing children man began to expand. No longer having the protection of the garden, man needed a place to live.

Tackling Type 2 Diversity

There’s a saying in Redemption that Type 2 is not for the faint of heart (particularly Type 2 multi). While playing a game of Type 2 can prove to be daunting for some, Type 2 offers players a chance to be creative with ideas and playstyles beyond that of Type 1. I believe that opportunity is the biggest plus of playing Type 2 and it will be the focus of this series—the diversity of Type 2.

Just about any idea, theme, or playstyle can be incorporated into an effective Type 2 deck (with perhaps a few exceptions such as Heroless or Herolite, but I could be wrong). In this series Justin and I will try to introduce some various deck strategies within Type 2 and some ideas to consider using within those strategies. Playstyles differ for everyone so any ideas we might give should not be considered mandatory or auto-includes for a deck, but rather should be viewed as ideas to explore for yourself. To start things off I figured we would start at the beginning, the very beginning in fact, as the focus of this article is the Creation of the World Genesis deck.

Iowa State Tournament Summary – Part 1

Approximately 20 people gathered for the Iowa State Redemption tournament on June 9th and 10th. I’d like to share a little bit about that experience with you and talk about the “BoM” deck that took 1st and 2nd in T1-2P.

The Players

The crowd consisted of mostly local players with a handful of veterans who traveled to join us. Both Pat (h20tor on the forum) and Mitch (MitchRobStew) made the drive from other parts of Iowa. Joining us from the great state of Minnesota were Jayden (KoalaKing), John (Red Dragon Thorn) and Justin (The Guardian).

Just Sit Right Back and I’ll Tell a Tale

Maybe you know the reference being made in the title of this article or maybe you don’t. Maybe I am really telling my age by the fact that I even made the reference. One thing we can all agree on though is this…a Noah’s Ark card has been way overdue; no maybes about it. Noah has been in the game since Patriarchs along with a small representation of his family with Noah’s Sons. Those cards, although fun if you pull them together in Booster Draft, have really seen no play since their release. The “Flood Theme” has seen a huge boost within the Cloud of Witnesses set with the new Noah and the addition of cards for Shem, Ham, and Japheth along with Noah’s Wife and a fun card that hinted that Noah’s Ark was coming, Pitch and Gopher Wood. Without further ado, let me introduce you to the 2016 National Promo card, Noah’s Ark.

Antediluvians: Part 1 (**SPOILERS**)

Redemption’s newest theme is going to be referred to by many people as “that word I can’t pronounce”. Just give it your best shot. What’s more important is what it means for game play. Who does it include? Why does it matter?

Antediluvian is a term used to describe any character who lived before the world wide flood of Genesis 7.

The Christ-Likeness of Noah

About 1500 years after the creation, so about 4500 years ago, The Fall had reached terrible depths of evil. “Wickedness Abounds” is certainly an accurate description – the Lord tells us in Genesis 6:5 that “every inclination of the thoughts of the human heart was only evil all the time.” In His perfect justice and righteousness, God determined that he would judge the evil Disobedience of the world and start afresh with the one man who was found righteous in his sight, who walked with God blamelessly: Noah.

“The Redemption Bible” Devotions

This Bible devotional series, which I am using this summer with the students participating in our weekly Redemption group at our church, uses “The Redemption Bible” – the complete collection of all the unique Redemption cards in the game (not every version of every unique card, just at least one version) that I have acquired over the 2 years I have been playing. This collection, much of which I have purchased but a large portion due to the very generous donations of other Redemption players, is arranged in in Bible book and verse order! So you can “read” it just like an illustrated Bible, card by card from Genesis to Revelation! (Yes, I’m sure you’re now wondering “How long did that take?” and the answer is – you don’t want to know! But this project has been a long time coming, so don’t worry, I didn’t do it all at once! 🙂 )

Browa’s Budget Bazaar – In the Beginning…

Hello and welcome to Browa’s Budget Bazaar!

This article series is designed to provide quick and simple deck ideas in general, as well as for specific themes, that won’t be hard on your wallet! There will also be suggestions for those with more available funds on how to spruce up the deck.

Blue Brigade Genesis Offense

By the perfect authority of His Word, the Holy Bible, we know that about 6,000 years ago, God created the heavens and the earth over six 24-hour days. Humanity was uniquely created on the sixth day in God’s image to live forever in face-to-face loving relationship with Him amongst the rest of Creation (yes even including the then-peaceful dinosaurs!) in the perfect universe God made and called “very good” (Genesis 1:31).

Peace – The Most Powerful Good Enhancement in TEC?!?

Since the release of the 2011 tins a “top tier” of offensive Enhancements have emerged. These cards are based around utility/speed and cannot be negated (CBN) battle winners.  Cards like “Wheel Within a Wheel, Samuel’s Edict, Bravery of David, Live Coal and Isaiah’s Call” have all found places in top tier decks.

Despite a lack of speed production, interrupt, or CBN, Peace is a strong candidate for cracking the elite tier for offensive Enhancements.
