Flashback – My First Nationals: Day 1

2016 Nationals was my first National tournament. I had wanted to do a write-up on my experiences and results, but I never made the time to do it. Then I took a mental break of sorts from Redemption last fall. Well, tournament season 2017 hasn’t kicked in yet, and spoilers for the new 2017 cards haven’t been released yet, so I figure now is as good a time as any. Even though the community’s knowledge and familiarity with the Cloud of Witnesses expansion is vastly improved since Nationals, I believe that we can find ways to improve (even in small ways) when we review past Redemption games.

2016 Nationals Results

Greetings and salutations! Gabe and I apologize for not updating everyone via the blog here as Nats progressed. The church’s guest internet connection wasn’t very stable and the private connection was reserved for the live streaming of games that was done. I was able to provide some results via Twitter and we have now compiled the full standings.

I’ve seen and heard from a lot of players that they’re just getting back into the game after a hiatus. If you’ve been keeping tabs on things here at Land of Redemption then you probably have an idea of what’s good right now. Let’s recap what’s strongest in Type 1.

California State Tournament Summary

We had most of the people from our playgroup gather for the California State Redemption tournament that met on June 25th and 26th and I would like to share my experience during the tournament and the impact the new set had.
