Hi, I started to play with my wife and we discovered that there is a couple of card where even if we try to understand the special abilities, we just can’t. For example the Rainbow card Raising of Lazarus that says One Hero from a potter’s field is brought back into play. What is Potter’s field exactly ?

Also for the pink card Ishbibenob’s Spear that says Worth 8/4 if used by a giant, How do I know when I have a card that is considered as a Giant ?

For the Rainbow Guardian of your souls, I don’t understand the text on it

Is there a website or somewhere where we can have more explanation on specific cards. Thanks for your help

Potters field is a card that will hold your heroes when they are discarded. certain cards can be used to get them back out, but otherwise, they are stuck in there. You will know a character is a Giant if 1) he has giant in the title ie. Twelve fingered Giant, or 2) they have giant in their identifier, which is right under the picture and right above the verse. Guardian is a dominant that protects your redeemed souls from another dominant called falling away, which, when used will take one redeemed soul from a land of redemption and put it back into the user’s land of bondage. A good website to check out is threelionsgaming.com, which list every card, and the value of that card. There is also the redemption message boards, where all players can go and talk about the game. this is a good place to ask these kinds of questions. heres the link http://www.cactusgamedesign.com/message_boards/index.php
      good luck and God bless!

    Hi there,

really love your site – lots of good readings!

Since I always try to get the best out of my existing card pool (unfortunately possibilities of bying cards is nearly as minimal as players are here in Germany) I’d really appreciate some articles talking about strategies, best practices etc. to build a deck out of a given card pool (which also provides helpful information for things like booster drafts etc.).
So what are the basic considerations when building decks based on this premises, how to tune and optimise etc. etc.

    Many thanks in advance!

    Bye

    Hello.

I have been deeply entrenched in the TCG community for the majority of my life. I was shocked to discover that this game exists and I didn’t know about it. I was even more surprised to learn that it has been going strong for almost 25 years. If you’re okay with it, I would love to ask some questions.

-Where do people buy/play Redemption? I’ve never seen it in any local tabletop game stores where I live.
-What draws you to this game as opposed to others? Is the source material the sole attraction or is there something about the mechanics that you prefer to other games, as well?
-How do the mechanics of Redemption compare to other popular card games such as Magic: The Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh, Pokemon, and Cardfight: Vanguard. Are they in any way similar? Are they better? Are they worse?
-Who plays this game? What would you say are the most prominent demographics?
-Where can I find other people to play with? Is there any website where I can see listings for local tournaments or anything like that?
-Is there anything else about the game or community you would like me to know?

Thank you for your time and consideration,

    Lara

      Hi Lara,

Thanks for reaching out! I won’t be able to answer all of your questions here but if you post them on the Redemption message boards linked below I’m certain the community will gladly help you with that and much more!

I’m thinking of attending a tournament but when I looked at the decklist I didn’t know what utility or reserve cards are. are they necessary to the decklist?

  • CtheTree

Katie: Sorry for the delay! For Type 1-2 Player which is the most commonly played format you can have a 10 card reserve. These are cards that you want to grab for specific situations.

This is in addition to your main deck. It is not required to play in a tournament but is very helpful to have to be competitive.
