Our second to last Armor of God Enhancement is Helmet of Salvation. The Helmet is a really important piece of Armor. It protects our inner-most thoughts, and helps us know when God is talking to us, by keeping Satan’s voice out. Two old versions of Helmet negated Confusion and evil searches (False Peace being the most prevalent).

Our first version of Helmet continued that idea, by negating evil Enhancements with 0 toughness. In our testing this proved to be way strong when paired with Shield of Faith, which at the time negated evil Enhancements with a toughness 2 or greater. So we moved away from that and ended up focusing on the salvation aspect by protecting Lost Souls from evil cards. This stops popular evil battle winners like Death of Unrighteous, Uzzah and Burial.

For the protection side of this piece of armor, we started with capture. When we added brigades, black made sense to us, to protect from the Wrath of Satan. We also added opponent’s Dominants. We feel that Helmet is one of the most important pieces of armor in the Christian life, as salvation is paramount to our eternal life, so we wanted a really strong ability. Removing a ton of the popular defensive stall blocks seemed appropriate.

But did we go too far? This is clearly one of the best armors to have if you’re not going to play all of them. Not everyone is going to be playing gray, crimson, black or brown, but everybody plays either Christian Martyr or Grapes of Wrath, and most play Unholy Writ or Magic Charms. This stops all of them. It was especially good on Watchful Servant so we made a change and swapped two of the colors around.

Teal doesn’t have that many N.T. Heroes, but one of the most popular is Priests of Christ. It made a lot of sense to us to change this to teal. Jesus is the great high priest, and we find our salvation through him.
