After a couple of fun rotation games on livestream last week, we’re back in action with weekly videos and this week, we’re checking out an offense that lurked around somewhat in Classic (mainly by Josh P. and Shon S. in recent years), but I think we’ll see even more in the rotation meta: Priests.

Prophecies of Christ has a lot of cool green cards that happen to have teal on them, so putting them all together with the few new teal toys that we got in LoC makes for an offense with some strong and repeatable rescues. Of course, I had to use Jeshua, the Restorer over Joshua, the High Priest, which I think adds some needed consistency to the deck. Then the battlewinning leans pretty heavily on Jeremiah, Zechariah, and Dutiful Priest with Gifts and Offerings, especially if you use New Covenant to bad Jeremiah in there with him to make G&O pseudo-CBI. I played it with a gray defense because I think it has most of the best battlewinners on defense right now, although I considered orange as well. I think I ended up going with gray because of the cute flexibility of Seventh Bowl of Wrath. Check out my deck list below the video.

This was another game against Chad, who played a White Job deck that was really cool. White has a lot of strong rescue options in rotation with Esther to protect, Mordecai + Royal Parade for a CBN interrupt recurrable with Music Leader, The 24 Elders for negating evil, Hannah to draw, and The Woman with Child to tutor Doms. Job just happens to fit in there nicely because of all the tutors in white to get Job and Peace out quickly. He tried it out with a False Prophets defense that not only gets to take advantage of the gray battlewinners I mentioned earlier, but also helps speed up the deck and find the offense faster.

Jayden started playing Redemption around 2004 when his brothers taught him to play and he attended his first National Tournament in 2005. Since then, he has become a competitive (mostly Type 2) player with a few National titles and, more importantly, has acquired many great friends and mentors through the game. However, in the years leading up to 2020, there has been a downward trend in attendance at some of the big tournaments, Nationals included. As a result, Jayden wanted to start doing something that would help pique and maintain interest in Redemption and he decided to do so in the form of a YouTube channel called Redemption with Jayden, which he started in June 2020 shortly after graduating college. He loves being able to share decks, games, and strategies, and hopes that the channel can be a useful resource for players at every level of the game.
